A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the fee for issuance of specialty license plates to |
|
|
certain wounded peace officers and to the families of certain peace |
|
|
officers killed in the line of duty. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 504.407(c), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A person applying for a set of license plates under this |
|
|
section shall pay the registration fee required under Chapter 502, |
|
|
except that one set of license plates shall be issued without |
|
|
payment of the registration fee. There is no additional fee for a |
|
|
license plate issued under this section [The fee for issuance of the
|
|
|
license plates is $20]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a registration period beginning on or after the effective date of |
|
|
this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
