A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to allowing multiple methods of voting at the same polling |
|
|
place. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 123.005(a), Election Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(a) Only [Except as otherwise provided by this code, only] |
|
|
one kind of voting system may be used at a polling place in an |
|
|
election, except: |
|
|
(1) that the authority adopting the voting system may |
|
|
provide for the use of direct recording electronic voting machines |
|
|
to cast a vote in addition to another method of casting a vote at the |
|
|
same polling place; or |
|
|
(2) as otherwise provided by this code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
