A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to application of restrictions on drivers under 18 years |
|
|
of age to persons who held a hardship license. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 545.424(c), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) This section does not apply to: |
|
|
(1) the holder of a hardship license or a person who |
|
|
held a hardship license immediately preceding the issuance of an |
|
|
original Class A, B, or C driver's license to the person; or |
|
|
(2) a person operating a motor vehicle while |
|
|
accompanied in the manner required by Section 521.222(d)(2) for the |
|
|
holder of an instruction permit. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
