A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to exempting Lamar State College--Orange and Lamar State |
|
|
College--Port Arthur from the requirement that an applicant for |
|
|
admission to a general academic teaching institution complete the |
|
|
recommended or advanced high school curriculum. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 51.805, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) An applicant for admission to Lamar State |
|
|
College--Orange or Lamar State College--Port Arthur is not required |
|
|
to satisfy the requirements prescribed by Subsection (a). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
