A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the issuance of Municipal Judge and Justice of the Peace |
|
|
specialty license plates. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 504.317 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 504.317. MUNICIPAL JUDGES AND JUSTICES OF THE PEACE. |
|
|
(a) The department shall issue specialty license plates for |
|
|
elected or appointed Municipal Judges and Justices of the Peace for |
|
|
use during their term of office. The license plates must include a |
|
|
depiction of the scales of justice and the words "Municipal Judge" |
|
|
or "Justice of the Peace". |
|
|
(b) Notwithstanding Section 504.3015(b), the fee for |
|
|
issuance of the license plates is: |
|
|
(1) $10 for the first set of license plates; and |
|
|
(2) $15 for each additional set of license plates. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
