A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the jurisdiction of certain courts in suits affecting |
|
|
the parent-child relationship. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 152.105 (d), Family Code is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) A court of this state may exercise jurisdiction as if |
|
|
this state were the home state if a court in another country has not |
|
|
provided a party notice and an opportunity to be heard in accordance |
|
|
with the standards of Section 152.108. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
