A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to license and examination eligibility requirements for |
|
|
closed system geothermal well drillers. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 1901, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1901.1511 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1901.1511. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN |
|
|
DRILLERS. For purposes of determining an applicant's practical |
|
|
experience to apply for a license or take an examination to be a |
|
|
closed system geothermal well driller, a license under Subchapter |
|
|
F, Chapter 1302, and completion of a department-approved geothermal |
|
|
drilling training course is equivalent to two years of practical |
|
|
experience. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a license application or examination application submitted on or |
|
|
after the effective date of this Act. An application filed before |
|
|
the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect when |
|
|
the application was filed, and the former law is continued in effect |
|
|
for that purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
