A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a fee charged by a municipality for a copy of public |
|
|
records. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subtitle A, Title 4, Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Chapter 110 to read as follows: |
|
|
CHAPTER 110. FEES CHARGED BY MUNICIPALITIES FOR RECORDS MANAGEMENT |
|
|
Sec. 110.001. COPY FEES. (a) A municipality shall charge |
|
|
not less than 15 cents per copy for a fee under Section 552.261, |
|
|
Government Code. |
|
|
(b) A fee collected under this section may be used only for |
|
|
the purposes of Chapter 203. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
