A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the display of month-to-month prices on |
|
|
www.powertochoose.org. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 39, Utilities Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 39.1027 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 39.1027. INFORMATION REQUIRED TO BE DISPLAYED ON |
|
|
INTERNET. (a) The commission by rule shall require a retail |
|
|
electric provider to submit information to the commission |
|
|
regarding: |
|
|
(1) the retail electric provider's price for |
|
|
month-to-month service, including introductory or promotional |
|
|
offers; and |
|
|
(2) whether the retail electric provider offers |
|
|
month-to-month service other than at the expiration of a fixed |
|
|
price contract. |
|
|
(b) For each retail electric provider, the commission shall |
|
|
display on the Internet website found at |
|
|
http://www.powertochoose.org: |
|
|
(1) the retail electric provider's price for |
|
|
month-to-month service, including introductory or promotional |
|
|
offers, as provided to the commission by the retail electric |
|
|
provider; and |
|
|
(2) whether the retail electric provider offers |
|
|
month-to-month service other than at the expiration of a fixed |
|
|
price contract, as indicated by the retail electric provider. |
|
|
(c) This section does not require the commission to warrant |
|
|
that the information displayed at http://www.powertochoose.org |
|
|
constitutes a complete or accurate list of all retail electric |
|
|
provider offers in the marketplace. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
