A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of money from the Texas Enterprise Fund to |
|
|
recruit and retain automotive manufacturing facilities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 481.078, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e-2) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e-2) Notwithstanding Subsection (e-1), a municipality is |
|
|
eligible to receive a grant under this section for the purpose of |
|
|
recruiting or retaining an automotive manufacturing facility. A |
|
|
particular municipality may not receive more than $50 million in |
|
|
grants under this subsection in a state fiscal year. A municipality |
|
|
may apply for a grant under this section in the same manner as a |
|
|
business entity. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
