A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to reporting by a registered lobbyist of persons |
|
|
compensating the lobbyist for political services provided by the |
|
|
lobbyist. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 305.005, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (j-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(j-1) If the registrant receives from a person compensation |
|
|
for services provided by the registrant that is paid from funds the |
|
|
registrant knows are subject to Title 15, Election Code, the |
|
|
registrant shall indicate that fact on the registration. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Subchapter A, Chapter 305, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 305.0065 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 305.0065. LISTING OF PERSONS COMPENSATING REGISTRANT |
|
|
FOR POLITICAL SERVICES. A registrant shall include in the report |
|
|
filed under Section 305.006 the full name and address of each person |
|
|
from whom the registrant receives compensation for services |
|
|
provided by the registrant that is paid from funds the registrant |
|
|
knows are subject to Title 15, Election Code. |
|
|
SECTION 3. Section 305.0065, Government Code, as added by |
|
|
this Act, applies only to a report required to be filed under |
|
|
Section 305.006, Government Code, that is due on or after November |
|
|
10, 2009. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
