A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to fees of office for directors of certain water |
|
districts. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

SECTION 1. Section 49.060, Water Code, is amended by adding |
|
Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
(f) This subsection applies only to a water control and |
|
improvement district operating under Chapter 51, Water Code, |
|
located in more than one county, the most populous of which is |
|
100,000 or less and the least populous of which is 55,000 or more. A |
|
director is entitled to receive fees of office of not more than $200 |
|
a day for each day the director actually spends performing the |
|
duties of a director. In this subsection, "performing the duties of |
|
a director" has the meaning provided in Subsection (a). A district, |
|
by resolution of the board, shall set a limit on the fees of office |
|
that a director may receive in a year. A district may not set the |
|
annual limit at an amount greater than $7,200. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
