A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the total cost of transmission to competitive renewable |
|
|
energy zones. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 39.904, Utilities Code, is amended by |
|
|
amending Subsection (i) to read as follows: |
|
|
(i) Transmission service to a competitive renewable energy |
|
|
zone must be provided in a manner consistent with Subchapter A, |
|
|
Chapter 35. The total cost of transmission capacity approved by the |
|
|
commission under this section may not exceed five billion dollars. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
