A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the designation of a courthouse or building in a |
|
|
courthouse square in certain counties as a state archeological |
|
|
landmark. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 191.097, Natural Resources Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), the committee shall |
|
|
remove from designation as a landmark a county courthouse or |
|
|
building in a county courthouse square if the courthouse or |
|
|
building is located in a county with a population of more than |
|
|
15,900 and less than 16,200. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
