A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the monitoring of electric generation offers in the |
|
|
ERCOT power region. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|

SECTION 1. Chapter 39, Utilities Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Section 39.1516 to read as follows: |
|
|
SECTION 39.1516. In order to promote transparency in the |
|
|
electricity market in ERCOT, the independent organization |
|
|
governing the ERCOT power region shall disclose all offers in the |
|
|
balancing energy market within forty-eight hours after the making |
|
|
of such offers. The disclosure shall be made on the organization's |
|
|
web site and shall include the identity of the generation entity |
|
|
making the offer, the amount of the offer and the time periods for |
|
|
which the offer was made. This section shall become effective on |
|
|
September 1, 2009. The commission shall adopt rules as necessary to |
|
|
implement this section. |
