A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for cancer of
  unknown primary origin awareness.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code,
  is amended by adding Section 504.6201 to read as follows:
         Sec. 504.6201.  CANCER OF UNKNOWN PRIMARY ORIGIN AWARENESS
  LICENSE PLATES.  (a)  The department shall issue specialty license
  plates to raise awareness of cancer of unknown primary origin.  The
  license plates must include the words "A Fine Cause for Unknown
  Cancer." The department shall design the license plates in
  consultation with the Orange Grove Family Career and Community
  Leaders of America.
         (b)  After deduction of the department's administrative
  costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of the license plates
  shall be deposited to the credit of the cancer prevention and
  research fund established by Section 102.201, Health and Safety
  Code.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
