A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority of the Texas Department of Transportation |
|
|
to enter into funding agreements to expedite an agency's |
|
|
environmental review duties related to transportation projects. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 201, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 201.6045 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 201.6045. AUTHORIZATION TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO |
|
|
EXPEDITE ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW. The department may enter into an |
|
|
agreement to provide funds to a state or federal agency to expedite |
|
|
the agency's performance of its duties related to the environmental |
|
|
review process for a transportation project of the department. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
