A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the composition of certain state representative |
|
|
districts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) This section applies to the districts used |
|
|
to elect the members of the Texas House of Representatives as |
|
|
established by order of the Legislative Redistricting Board in 2001 |
|
|
and modified by subsequent court order. |
|
|
(b) Census blocks 3015, 4015, 4016, 4017, and 4023 of Dallas |
|
|
County census tract 000500 are transferred from House District 100 |
|
|
to House District 108. |
|
|
(c) The districts as modified by this Act apply to the |
|
|
election of the members of the Texas House of Representatives |
|
|
beginning with the primary and general elections in 2010 for |
|
|
members of the house of representatives of the 82nd Legislature. |
|
|
This Act does not affect the membership or districts of the house of |
|
|
representatives of the 81st Legislature, or an election to fill a |
|
|
vacancy in the office of state representative for any part of the |
|
|
81st Legislature. |

|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
