A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the application of the sunset review process to the |
office of vehicle fleet management. |
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 2171, Government Code, is |
amended by adding Section 2171.106 to read as follows: |
Sec. 2171.106. APPLICATION OF SUNSET ACT. (a) The office |
of vehicle fleet management in the comptroller's office is subject |
to Chapter 325 (Texas Sunset Act) as if the office of vehicle fleet |
management were a state agency. Unless continued in existence as |
provided by that chapter, the office of vehicle fleet management is |
abolished and this subchapter expires September 1, 2011. |
(b) To the extent Chapter 325 imposes a duty on a state |
agency under review, the comptroller's office shall perform that |
duty as it relates to the office of vehicle fleet management. |
(c) The Sunset Advisory Commission shall include in its |
review an analysis of the practical effect of rules adopted by state |
agencies under Section 2171.1045. |
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
