A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the Child Care and Development Block Grant. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 310.002, Labor Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) All Child Care and Development Block Grant funds |
|
|
received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 |
|
|
not explicitly dedicated under federal law shall be dedicated to |
|
|
investments or programs that will improve the quality of child care |
|
|
services delivered under the Child Care and Development Block Grant |
|
|
after federal funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment |
|
|
Act expire. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The Act takes effect immediately if it receives a |
|
|
vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 29, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
