A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the coordinated health program for elementary, middle, |
|
|
and junior high school students. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 38.013, Chapter 38, Education |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The commissioner may award grants to a school |
|
|
district for the purposes of this section. A grant awarded under |
|
|
this section may be funded using any available federal or state |
|
|
funds. The commissioner may require that grants be matched using |
|
|
local funds, including donations. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, |
|
|
2009. |
