A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the reporting of reading levels on notices to parents |
|
|
and/or progress reports to parents. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B of Chapter 28, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 28.0221 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 28.0221. READING LEVEL NOTICES. The board of trustees |
|
|
of each school district shall adopt a policy that requires the |
|
|
district, on the last report card and/or progress report of the Fall |
|
|
Semester and on the last report card and/or progress report of the |
|
|
Spring Semester, to give written notice to a parent of a student's |
|
|
grade level performance in reading. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2010. |
