HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The tragic death of game warden Teyran Patterson in |
|
the line of duty on May 30, 2007, brought a great loss to his family, |
|
his community, and his fellow law enforcement professionals |
|
throughout the state; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Seguin, "Ty" Patterson was born on |
|
November 18, 1978, to Joe and Viann Patterson; he graduated from the |
|
local high school and went on to attend Texas State University, |
|
where he played football while earning a bachelor's degree in |
|
criminal justice; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2005, he graduated from the Texas Game Warden |
|
Academy; stationed in Johnson County, he was dedicated to his work |
|
and impressed others with his determination to succeed and his |
|
friendly, charismatic personality; and |
|
WHEREAS, This brave Texan lost his life while assisting in a |
|
search and rescue operation, but his heroic actions on that day |
|
helped to save the life of fellow game warden Danny Tuggle; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Ty Patterson's life ended far too soon, it |
|
is fitting to remember the passion he brought to all his endeavors |
|
and the positive way in which he touched the lives of those who were |
|
privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby pay tribute to the memory of game warden Teyran Patterson and |
|
extend deepest sympathy to his family: to his parents, Joe and Viann |
|
Patterson; to his siblings, Demetrius, Joe, and Crystal; and to his |
|
other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
Teyran "Ty" Patterson. |
