CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The tragic death of game warden Teyran Patterson in
  the line of duty on May 30, 2007, brought a great loss to his family,
  his community, and his fellow law enforcement professionals
  throughout the state; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Seguin, "Ty" Patterson was born on
  November 18, 1978, to Joe and Viann Patterson; he graduated from the
  local high school and went on to attend Texas State University,
  where he played football while earning a bachelor's degree in
  criminal justice; and
         WHEREAS, In 2005, he graduated from the Texas Game Warden
  Academy; stationed in Johnson County, he was dedicated to his work
  and impressed others with his determination to succeed and his
  friendly, charismatic personality; and
         WHEREAS, This brave Texan lost his life while assisting in a
  search and rescue operation, but his heroic actions on that day
  helped to save the life of fellow game warden Danny Tuggle; and
         WHEREAS, Although Ty Patterson's life ended far too soon, it
  is fitting to remember the passion he brought to all his endeavors
  and the positive way in which he touched the lives of those who were
  privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby pay tribute to the memory of game warden Teyran Patterson and
  extend deepest sympathy to his family: to his parents, Joe and Viann
  Patterson; to his siblings, Demetrius, Joe, and Crystal; and to his
  other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
  Teyran "Ty" Patterson.
