CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The general convention of delegates of the people of |
|
|
Texas meeting at Washington-on-the-Brazos adopted the Texas |
|
|
Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature has designated March 2 of each |
|
|
year as Texas Independence Day and declared that date to be a state |
|
|
holiday; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
|
hereby direct the State Preservation Board to reserve the Capitol |
|
|
Rotunda for an organized Texas Independence Day celebration on |
|
|
March 2 of each year; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
forwarded to the executive director of the State Preservation Board |
|
|
as an expression of the sentiment of the Texas Legislature. |
