CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Eddie W. Klatt retired from the Midland Fire |
|
|
Department on February 26, 2009, drawing to a close a notable tenure |
|
|
in public service that spanned more than 37 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Midland, Mr. Klatt joined the |
|
|
Midland Fire Department in September 1971; he demonstrated an |
|
|
unwavering dedication to serving and protecting his fellow |
|
|
citizens, and he retired as assistant fire chief of the department; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Klatt follows in the footsteps of his father, |
|
|
the late William E. Klatt, who joined the Midland Fire Department as |
|
|
a volunteer in 1935 and later became the city's third professional |
|
|
firefighter and its first paid fire marshal; Eddie Klatt honored |
|
|
his father's life and achievements by choosing to retire on Bill |
|
|
Klatt's birthday, February 26; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Klatt enjoys the love |
|
|
and support of his wife, Cindy; moreover, this esteemed Texan has |
|
|
garnered the respect and admiration of the citizens of Midland, and |
|
|
for his many accomplishments and his enduring commitment to serving |
|
|
others, he is an inspiration to all who are fortunate to know him; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
|
hereby congratulate Eddie W. Klatt on his retirement from the |
|
|
Midland Fire Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Klatt as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives and Senate. |
