CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Leo |
|
Edward Polowy, Jr., of Paris, Texas, who passed away on April 23, |
|
2009, at the age of 70; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Polowy was born on August 1, 1938, to Leo and |
|
Martha Zielinski Polowy in Buffalo, New York; he owned LEP |
|
Engraving in Buffalo for several years before moving to Texas to |
|
teach jewelry technology at Paris Junior College, where he was |
|
employed from 1979 to 1984; and |
|
WHEREAS, A 29-year member of the Paris Elks lodge, Mr. Polowy |
|
served as the group's secretary from 1981 until his health forced |
|
him to retire; he was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic |
|
Church and enjoyed a long and rewarding relationship with his life |
|
companion, Walta Marie Green, before her death in 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, Leo Polowy leaves his |
|
loved ones with countless fond memories of the happy times they |
|
spent in his company; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Leo Edward Polowy, Jr., and extend |
|
sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his stepchildren, |
|
Sheri Blanton and her husband, Jim, LaDonna Arey and her husband, |
|
Anthony, and Anecia Green; to his step-grandchildren, Allen and |
|
Kyle Blanton, Austin Arey, Alexis Brown and her husband, Dusty, and |
|
Alycia McGuyer and her husband, Dale; to his sister, Martha |
|
Drzewucki; to his nieces, Catherine Foster and her husband, |
|
Phillip, Barbara Schupp and her husband, David, and Joan Glogovsky |
|
and her husband, Todd; to his nephews, Patrick Drzewucki and his |
|
wife, Lynn, and Norman Winlarski; and to his other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
Leo Polowy. |
