CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, Adam Taylor of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 924 in |
|
Houston has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
criteria, Mr. Taylor earned the requisite 21 merit badges and |
|
successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his |
|
community, for which he oversaw the construction of a permanent |
|
shade arbor and picnic tables at St. Mark's United Methodist |
|
Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Alex and Melissa Taylor, this fine young |
|
Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout |
|
his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his |
|
fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting |
|
offers; he is a member of the Baby Ocean of Soul Marching Band, the |
|
golf team, and "The Gents" social service organization at Booker T. |
|
Washington High School for the Engineering Professions, where he |
|
was sophomore class president, and he serves as an usher and sings |
|
in the choir at St. Mark's United Methodist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Taylor's dedication to excellence and |
|
his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby congratulate Adam Taylor on achieving the rank of Eagle |
|
Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives and Senate. |
