CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of LuLane |
|
Caraway of Paris, who passed away on May 22, 2009, at the age of 66; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on October 6, 1942, to Harless and Alene |
|
Cameron Caraway in McKinney, LuLane Caraway attended Farmersville |
|
schools and went on to earn an undergraduate degree and a master's |
|
degree in library science from North Texas State University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Caraway was employed at Paris Junior College and |
|
retired as the director of library services; she was a devoted and |
|
active member of the congregation at Calvary United Methodist |
|
Church and contributed her time and energy to support the |
|
Democratic Party, attending local, state, and national |
|
conventions; and |
|
WHEREAS, LuLane Caraway led a life filled with rewarding |
|
experiences and meaningful fellowship, and she will be deeply |
|
missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of LuLane Caraway and extend sincere |
|
sympathy to the members of her family: to her nephew, Thomas G. |
|
Caraway II; to her niece, Dorian Sparks; to her great-nephews, |
|
Justin and Joshua Sparks; to her great-aunts, Frances Stubbs and |
|
Verna Wilson; to her sister-in-law, Linda Huff, and to her other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
LuLane Caraway. |
