R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close when Mary |
|
Finch Ridout of Austin died on October 21, 2007, at the age of 85; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in the Capital City on April 12, 1922, to |
|
Herbert H. Finch and Anne Townes Finch, Mary Finch graduated Phi |
|
Beta Kappa from The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a |
|
member of Pi Beta Phi sorority; and |
|
WHEREAS, She married R. G. Ridout and with him shared many |
|
happy times during the course of their 46 years together, which |
|
ended with Mr. Ridout's passing in 1992; the devoted mother of three |
|
sons, Mrs. Ridout also delighted in spending time in the company of |
|
her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mrs. Ridout was a congregant of |
|
St. David's Episcopal Church; moreover, she participated in |
|
activities of the Junior League of Austin and the Colonial Dames of |
|
America; and |
|
WHEREAS, This kind and gracious woman lived a rewarding life |
|
that was centered around her family and friends, and she will |
|
forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the memory of Mary Finch Ridout and extend |
|
sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her children, Dr. |
|
Robert G. Ridout III and his wife, Ginger, Howell F. Ridout and his |
|
wife, Debbie, and John T. Ridout; to her grandchildren, Steve |
|
Ridout and his wife, Paige, Lauren Ramirez and her husband, |
|
Jonathan, and Sarah Ridout; to her great-grandchildren, Steven, |
|
John, and Elodie Ridout; and to her other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Finch |
|
Ridout. |
