R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of Shirley-Mae Jane King of Ingram on |
|
April 7, 2008, at the age of 74, has deeply saddened all those who |
|
were fortunate enough to know her; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Deshler, Nebraska, to Dahl and Leona |
|
Thompson, Mrs. King grew up in Nebraska and Kansas; while living in |
|
Wichita, Kansas, she met William Jefferson "Jeff" King, and the two |
|
were married in 1951; the couple shared many happy times through the |
|
years and together welcomed three children and four grandchildren |
|
into their family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. King helped provide for her loved ones through |
|
her employment with Beech Aircraft, where she worked for 35 years; |
|
throughout her life, she enjoyed listening to sacred music as well |
|
as studying scripture and teaching others about its meaning; and |
|
WHEREAS, A resident of Ingram since 1992, this kind and |
|
gracious woman lived a life that was centered around her family and |
|
friends, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their |
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Shirley-Mae Jane King |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
husband, Jeff King; to her children, Valorie Qualey, Julene Gomez, |
|
and Bradley King; to her grandchildren, Matthew and Angela Qualey, |
|
Meryl King, and Bradley King II; to her brothers, Stanley and Larry |
|
Thompson; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of |
|
Shirley-Mae Jane King. |
