R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Allen High School Eagles football team won the
  2008 University Interscholastic League 5A Division 1 state
  championship with a 21-14 victory over previously unbeaten Fort
  Bend Hightower at Reliant Stadium in Houston on December 20, 2008;
  and
         WHEREAS, This memorable triumph brought Allen High its first
  state football title in the school's history, and it capped a
  playoff run in which the squad bested two other undefeated teams,

  wins and only 1 defeat, the Eagles thrived under the inspired
  leadership of head coach Tom Westerberg; and

  at the Eagles' one-yard line and a fourth-quarter interception by
  linebacker Mitch Hartshorne; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is the culmination of
  countless hours of hard work and dedication, and these talented
  student-athletes may take justifiable pride in their exceptional
  achievement; now, therefore, be it
