R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. T. David Greer is lending his time and talents to |
|
aid the Texas House of Representatives as Physician of the Day for |
|
January 15, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Henrietta, David Greer completed his |
|
studies at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and |
|
joined the United States Army following his graduation in 1964; he |
|
completed an internship at Letterman General Hospital in San |
|
Francisco and became a flight surgeon in 1965; he was later |
|
stationed in Germany and Vietnam, and for his dedicated military |
|
service he earned numerous commendations, including a Bronze Star |
|
with Oak Leaf Clusters, an Air Medal with eight Oak Leaf Clusters, |
|
an Army Commendation Medal, and a Purple Heart; and |
|
WHEREAS, This accomplished Texan has operated a private |
|
practice in Henrietta for nearly four decades and has become a |
|
respected and well-known figure in his hometown and in the |
|
surrounding area; holding specialty certification from the |
|
American Board of Family Medicine, he is also a member of the |
|
American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the national and |
|
state medical associations; moreover, he is involved in the Texas |
|
Academy of Family Physicians, and that organization named him its |
|
2004 Physician of the Year; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Greer has built an admirable career by devoting |
|
himself to the health and well-being of others, and it is a pleasure |
|
to recognize him at this time and to gratefully welcome him to the |
|
State Capitol; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Dr. T. David Greer for his participation |
|
in the Physician of the Day program and commend him for his |
|
professional achievements; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Dr. Greer as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
