R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of David Van Bibber of San Antonio on |
|
July 13, 2008, at the age of 88, has deeply saddened all those who |
|
were fortunate enough to know him; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on November 15, 1919, Mr. Van Bibber grew up in |
|
Houston; he was a U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient who |
|
had lived in San Antonio since his discharge from the military in |
|
1946; and |
|
WHEREAS, He was employed at Randolph Air Force Base with Base |
|
Engineers until he retired from the U.S. government in 1978, when he |
|
established and operated a heating and air conditioning business; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, This beloved husband, father, and grandfather |
|
served his fellow congregants at Alamo Heights United Methodist |
|
Church as an usher and attended the Kum Doubler Sunday school class; |
|
he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Teddy, as well as hunting and |
|
shooting sports; and |
|
WHEREAS, David Van Bibber enriched the lives of others |
|
through his ability to entertain them with his engaging sense of |
|
humor, and he will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of |
|
his family and friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of David Van Bibber and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of |
|
61 years, Maria Theresa "Teddy" Van Bibber; to his daughter, Cindy |
|
Murray, and her husband, Tom; to his grandchildren, Brian Murray |
|
and Kathryn Morris and her husband, Alan; to his nephew and nieces, |
|
James Van Bibber, Diana Blackshear, Susan Holland, Debra Van |
|
Bibber, Sylvia Van Bibber, Doris Ellis, and Donna Van Bibber; to his |
|
brother, Robert Van Bibber; and to his other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David Van |
|
Bibber. |
