R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Agricultural Lifetime
  Leadership X and XI classes are visiting the State Capitol as part
  of their studies, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity
  to honor this worthwhile initiative and its participants; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1987 as part of the Texas AgriLife
  Extension Service of The Texas A&M University System, TALL is
  devoted to the development of outstanding leaders in farming,
  ranching, and other agriculture-related businesses; the program
  focuses on men and women in the early stages of their careers, and
  participants are selected on the basis of their leadership
  integrity and effectiveness, analytical and communication skills,
  vocational commitment, and growth potential; 48 candidates,
  ranging in age from 25 to 50, are taking part in the X and XI
  classes; and
         WHEREAS, These notable Texans are attending a series of nine
  seminars that extend over a two-year period; classes tour the state
  and also visit Washington, D.C., New York, Mexico, Russia, China,
  and Poland; while in Austin, class members will learn about state
  government and its role in addressing the complex issues facing the
  agriculture industry today; and
         WHEREAS, The goals of the program are to identify and support
  emerging industry leaders, to heighten their knowledge of current
  issues, and to increase their personal involvement in state and
  local activities that contribute to the growth of Texas
  agriculture; and
         WHEREAS, The members of the TALL X and XI classes are devoting
  their time and energy to advancing an important component of the
  state's economy, and they are indeed deserving of recognition for
  their dedication and hard work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate members of the Texas Agricultural
  Lifetime Leadership X and XI classes on their selection for
  participation in this esteemed program and extend to them best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the class members as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
