R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An esteemed attorney and civic leader, Rolando B.
  Pablos has been selected as the 2009 chair of the San Antonio
  Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board of directors; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Pablos attended St. Mary's University, earning a
  bachelor's degree in 1992 and a law degree in 1998; he also holds
  master's degrees in business administration and hospitality
  management from The University of Texas at San Antonio and the
  University of Houston, respectively; Mr. Pablos joined the
  multinational corporation Oberthur Technologies as a general
  counsel overseeing the legal and public affairs for the firm's
  lottery operations in the United States and Mexico; he went on to
  establish R. B. Pablos P.C., a firm dedicated to providing
  development services to domestic and international businesses, and
  he now works for Monty Partners; he also recently cofounded Burg
  O.A. Entertainment, which produces independent motion pictures;
  and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his busy professional life, Mr.
  Pablos contributes to a variety of community organizations, serving
  on the boards of the Nueces River Authority, Free Trade Alliance,
  Hispanic Alliance for Progress Institute, and San Antonio Zoo;
  moreover, he was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas
  Racing Commission, and he has taken part in the governor's Texas
  Task Force on Appraisal Reform, the San Antonio Mayor's Commission
  on Homelessness, and the Bexar County River Improvements
  Commission; Mr. Pablos has further served on the advisory council
  and as an adjunct professor for the College of Business at UT San
  Antonio; in all of his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of
  his wife, Laura San Martin, and their three children, Cristina
  Elizabeth, David Alan, and Mia Noelle; and
         WHEREAS, With his extensive professional experience and
  bicultural background, Rolando Pablos plans to build stronger
  relations with Mexico during his time in office, and this as well as
  his other initiatives are sure to have a positive effect on the
  Hispanic business community in San Antonio; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Rolando B. Pablos on his selection
  as the 2009 chair of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
  board of directors and extend to him sincere best wishes for a
  successful tenure; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Pablos as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
