R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Benjamin H. Garza of the Edinburg Economedes Chapter
  of the FFA was awarded the Lone Star FFA Degree by the Texas FFA at
  the 80th annual state convention held in July 2008; and
         WHEREAS, The Lone Star FFA Degree is the highest degree
  bestowed by the state association; the achievement recognizes
  members for their agricultural awareness, leadership, career
  development, and active involvement in their FFA chapter; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Benjamin and Sonia Garza, Benjamin Garza
  has been a valued member of the Edinburg Economedes FFA Chapter,
  serving the organization in such diverse roles as treasurer,
  chaplain, and president; this outstanding young man has also been
  active in his church, benefiting others through his work with
  children and as an altar server; and
         WHEREAS, Those young people who devote themselves to
  advancing the goals of the FFA are building a brighter future for
  themselves as well as contributing to the betterment of their
  community, state, and nation, and it is most fitting that Benjamin
  Garza be recognized for his hard work and commitment; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Benjamin H. Garza on his receipt of
  the Lone Star FFA Degree from the Texas FFA and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for success in his future endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
