R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Benjamin H. Garza of the Edinburg Economedes Chapter |
|
|
of the FFA was awarded the Lone Star FFA Degree by the Texas FFA at |
|
|
the 80th annual state convention held in July 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lone Star FFA Degree is the highest degree |
|
|
bestowed by the state association; the achievement recognizes |
|
|
members for their agricultural awareness, leadership, career |
|
|
development, and active involvement in their FFA chapter; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Benjamin and Sonia Garza, Benjamin Garza |
|
|
has been a valued member of the Edinburg Economedes FFA Chapter, |
|
|
serving the organization in such diverse roles as treasurer, |
|
|
chaplain, and president; this outstanding young man has also been |
|
|
active in his church, benefiting others through his work with |
|
|
children and as an altar server; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Those young people who devote themselves to |
|
|
advancing the goals of the FFA are building a brighter future for |
|
|
themselves as well as contributing to the betterment of their |
|
|
community, state, and nation, and it is most fitting that Benjamin |
|
|
Garza be recognized for his hard work and commitment; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Benjamin H. Garza on his receipt of |
|
|
the Lone Star FFA Degree from the Texas FFA and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for success in his future endeavors; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
