R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 80th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly
  cause for celebration, and Eva Lee Perry Jatho of Austin is reaching
  that notable milestone in her life on February 10, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, Eva Perry was born in 1929, the second of five
  children of Grace and Doris Perry of Waelder; she moved to Austin
  with her family seven years later and graduated from Austin High
  School with the Class of 1947; and
         WHEREAS, She wed John Chernosky in 1949 and became the mother
  of three children, Carol, Tommy, and John; later, she married
  Donald Jatho, who had two children of his own, Sheryl and Donnie,
  and together Mr. and Mrs. Jatho raised their blended family with
  love and devotion; this caring woman taught all of her children the
  importance of faith, family, loyalty, responsibility, diligence,
  and industry, and her guidance has helped them to find success in
  their various endeavors; and
         WHEREAS, Once her children were grown, Mrs. Jatho reentered
  the workforce by taking a job at the Texas Insurance Checking
  Office; over the course of her 26 years of dedicated service, she
  rose steadily through the ranks and attained the position of senior
  technician by the time of her retirement in 1994; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Jatho maintains an active schedule in her
  retirement, spending time traveling and involving herself in
  functions of Hyde Park United Methodist Church; in addition, she
  makes it a point to take a brisk walk every morning to keep fit, and
  she has the pleasure of spending a lot of time with her 15
  grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Eva Jatho has dedicated herself
  to her family and her work, and she may indeed take great
  satisfaction in her many achievements as she reflects on eight
  decades of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Eva Lee Perry Jatho on the occasion of her
  80th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Jatho as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
