R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Roger Dennis, Jr., of Live Oak passed away on |
|
February 29, 2008, at the age of 55, leaving his circle of family |
|
and friends with many treasured memories of time spent in his |
|
company; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to Roger and Sammie Lee Dennis on March 13, |
|
1952, Roger Dennis grew up in a large family with three brothers and |
|
four sisters; in his youth, he attended Brackenridge High School |
|
and San Antonio College, where he studied music; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Dennis joined the San Antonio Fire Department at |
|
the age of 20; he trained as a paramedic in one of the first such |
|
classes offered and was a staff member at Fire Station No. 14 at the |
|
time of his death; and |
|
WHEREAS, With his beloved wife, Mary, Mr. Dennis shared a |
|
fulfilling marriage that spanned 32 years, and together they |
|
experienced the joy of welcoming a daughter, a son-in-law, and |
|
three grandchildren into their family; in his leisure time, he took |
|
pleasure in bargain shopping for his loved ones and making the |
|
acquaintance of many people; and |
|
WHEREAS, Roger Dennis was a devout and caring man, and he will |
|
be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have |
|
known him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Roger Dennis, Jr., and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
Mary Dennis; to his daughter, Christina Bright, and her husband, |
|
Antonio; to his grandchildren, Chase Roger, Cierra, and Christiane; |
|
to his brothers and their wives, Wilmire and Lucinda Jones, Harrold |
|
Dennis, and Larry and Guffie Dennis; to his sisters and their |
|
husbands, Rebecca and Wilbert Tinkshell, Michelle and Michael |
|
Thomas, and YeVonne and Michael Wiltz; and to his other relatives |
|
and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roger |
|
Dennis, Jr. |
