H.R. No. 354

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to recognize February 10, 2009, as Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes (TORCH) Day; and

WHEREAS, TORCH is an advocate for the rights of all assisted living and residential care residents so that they may be treated with optimum dignity, routinely receive high quality service, and be afforded the maximum independence their condition will allow; and

WHEREAS, TORCH also provides education to the assisted living industry, the legislature, state agencies, and the public so that all may be more fully informed about Texas seniors and their rights; and

WHEREAS, TORCH will continue to lead the assisted living community in Texas as it cares for and protects residents who call their respective communities "home"; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby recognize February 10, 2009, as Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes Day; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
