R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, C. A. and Johnnie Currington of |
|
Lubbock celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 9, |
|
2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, C. A. Currington and the former Johnnie Huddleston |
|
were married in Corsicana in 1949; later that year, they moved to |
|
Levelland, where Mr. Currington was employed by Amoco Production |
|
and Mrs. Currington worked as a hairdresser; after retiring in |
|
Levelland, the couple moved to Lubbock; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Currington have been |
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes four children and |
|
their spouses, Ronnie and Pam Currington, Ted and Jan Currington, |
|
Pam and Ricky Bryant, and Mark and Amy Currington; moreover, the |
|
couple has delighted in the addition of 13 grandchildren and 11 |
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six |
|
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor C. A. and Johnnie Currington on their 60th |
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Currington as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
