R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Arnold and Carolyn Tims of Midland |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 27, 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Tims were united in matrimony in |
|
|
Phillips on that special day in 1958; through the years, they have |
|
|
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of two children, Lisa and Blake, and two |
|
|
grandchildren, Rebecca and Spencer; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Tims worked for Jones and Laughlin Steel for 35 |
|
|
years and, after his retirement, went to work for Hy-Bon |
|
|
Engineering; Mrs. Tims worked for Perry Oil and Gas Company, for |
|
|
various doctors, and with the Spring Independent School District; |
|
|
the couple are members of First Baptist Church in Midland; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world during the past |
|
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Arnold and Carolyn Tims on the |
|
|
occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Tims as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
