R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the loved ones of
  Phillip Gil Roberts, who passed away on February 20, 2008, at the
  age of 48; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Roberts was born on September 19, 1959, to Leon
  and Quincy Roberts; one of nine children, he shared a special bond
  with his twin sister, Phyllis; and
         WHEREAS, After graduating from Sam Houston High School in San
  Antonio in 1978, Mr. Roberts attended Johnson's Beauty College; he
  began his career the following year, and through the decades this
  master stylist served many clients at salons in both San Antonio and
  Dallas and had the opportunity to show off his skills
  internationally; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Roberts worked with some of the top black hair
  care manufacturers in the 1980s and 1990s, and in 2000, he became
  part of the Luster Products Company design team; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his faith, Mr. Roberts was a member of
  Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas and a faithful visitor
  of New Creation Christian Fellowship in San Antonio; he loved to
  sing and was at one time a member of the Donald Belford Chorale; and
         WHEREAS, Phillip Roberts built a life that was rich in
  friends and family, and while he will be deeply missed, he will
  always be remembered with great admiration and affection; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Phillip Gil Roberts
  and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  mother, Quincy M. Roberts; to his sisters, Alice Bennett and her
  husband, Mack, Brenda Burnley and her husband, Olester, Toy Pinnix
  and her husband, Robert, Tony Roberts, and Phyllis Boone and her
  husband, Donald; to his brother, Anthony Roberts; and to his other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Phillip Gil
  Roberts.
