R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends mourn the loss of Robert Kevin |
|
Housley of Christoval, who died on April 20, 2008, at the age of 45; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Kevin Housley was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on |
|
July 30, 1962, to Bob and Mona Housley; he graduated from Central |
|
High School in San Angelo in 1980 and went on to earn a degree at |
|
Angelo State University, where he met his future wife, Vicki |
|
McKinney; and |
|
WHEREAS, Following his graduation from ASU, Mr. Housley was |
|
part of the gubernatorial campaign of U.S. Representative Tom |
|
Loeffler and then served as a staff member for Governor Bill |
|
Clements; he later worked for U.S. Representative Dick Armey; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1986, Mr. Housley joined his father's business, |
|
Housley Communications, in San Angelo; he held the position of |
|
executive vice president and was responsible for the company's |
|
day-to-day operations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Housley was an active member of his community |
|
and contributed to the boards of West Texas Boys Ranch, Angelo Civic |
|
Theatre, Sonrisas Therapeutic Riding, and the Texas Maine-Anjou |
|
Association; moreover, his interest in public service inspired him |
|
to serve on the school board of the Christoval Independent School |
|
District and to seek election to the Texas House of |
|
Representatives; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of strong religious faith, Mr. Housley was a |
|
certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church and was a |
|
board member for St. Luke UMC and the Concho Country Emmaus |
|
Community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Kevin Housley was a devoted husband and a loving |
|
father who put his wife and children at the center of his life, |
|
taking great pride in their accomplishments and enthusiastically |
|
supporting their activities; although he was taken much too soon, |
|
the memory of this gregarious and joyful man will live forever in |
|
the hearts of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Kevin Housley |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Vicki Housley; to his children, Jessica Housley and |
|
Christopher Housley; to his parents, Robert and Mona Housley; to |
|
his sisters, Cindee Tommee Woods and Kay Brown; to his nieces and |
|
nephews, Symphony, Sammy, and Krishawna; to his grandfather, Hal |
|
Addison; to his aunts and uncles, Donna Fuqua, Kay and Jerry Hunter, |
|
Tucker and Virginia Housley, Deborah and Bruce Angel, Peggy and |
|
Thomas Northern, Joanne and Bob Imboden, and Eddie and Marsha |
|
Housley; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert |
|
Kevin Housley. |
