R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Gil and Cheryl Holt of Bedford |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 17, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Holt exchanged the vows of matrimony in |
|
|
South Bend, Indiana, on that special day in 1959; through the years, |
|
|
they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage, become the parents of |
|
|
three children, Gail, Glenn, and Gloria, and welcomed four |
|
|
grandchildren into their family; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Holt worked |
|
|
for the Indiana State Police until his retirement and is now an |
|
|
active corporate pilot and flight instructor; Mrs. Holt, a |
|
|
homemaker, is a former orchestral cellist; residents of Bedford |
|
|
since 1986, this esteemed couple are both avid musicians, and they |
|
|
enjoy membership at the Brown Trail Church of Christ, where they |
|
|
delight in singing together; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world during the past |
|
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gil and Cheryl Holt on the occasion |
|
|
of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Holt as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
