R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, On February 19, 2009, Dr. Forrest Lowry is serving |
|
as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Lowry graduated from Fuller High School in |
|
Little Rock, Arkansas, and holds a bachelor's degree in speech and |
|
drama from Arkansas Tech University; he earned his master's degree |
|
in theology and his ministry doctorate from Mid-America Baptist |
|
Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, and is certified and |
|
licensed as a belief therapist by the Therapon Institute; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed minister has served as senior pastor |
|
for numerous churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas |
|
since 1973; currently, he leads the congregation at First Baptist |
|
Church in Lexington, Texas, while also working as a reverse |
|
mortgage branch sales manager for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; he is |
|
married to Linda Kay Lowry and is the proud father of three |
|
children, Joshua, Matthew, and Allison; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Lowry works diligently |
|
to make a positive difference in the lives of his fellow citizens, |
|
and his achievements in that effort are indeed impressive; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Forrest |
|
Lowry for his service as Pastor of the Day for this chamber and |
|
extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success and |
|
fulfillment in his ministry; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Dr. Lowry as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
