R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer James R. O'Donnell of |
|
Austin has rendered outstanding service to this country as a member |
|
of the U.S. Navy Reserve; and |
|
WHEREAS, Chief Petty Officer O'Donnell joined the Reserve in |
|
October 1985, and he served with Naval Mobile Construction |
|
Battalion 22 throughout his distinguished 21-year tenure; his |
|
duties included training troops and readying them for battle; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedication and professionalism, he held |
|
such positions as leading petty officer, assistant |
|
officer-in-charge, and officer-in-charge of the NMCB 22 Detachment |
|
06, in which he oversaw 52 reservists; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Chief Petty Officer |
|
O'Donnell has been blessed with the support of his wife, Angie, and |
|
his son, Weston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Supporting and augmenting active-duty troops, |
|
reservists are an integral and vital part of the U.S. Navy, and Jim |
|
O'Donnell's generous contributions to his country are most |
|
deserving of his fellow citizens' deepest respect and gratitude; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer James R. |
|
O'Donnell for his outstanding service to this country and extend to |
|
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Chief Petty Officer O'Donnell as an expression of high |
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
