H.R. No. 525
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Louis Ojeda of Austin
  has rendered exemplary service to this country as a member of the
  U.S. Naval Construction Force, and his retirement on April 1, 2009,
  offers a fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed Texan; and
         WHEREAS, Chief Ojeda joined the Seabees in December 1974 and
  served with distinction in Vietnam and Iraq; deployed twice in
  support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he is also a veteran of
  Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Enduring Freedom; and
         WHEREAS, During his notable 25-year tenure, Chief Ojeda's
  duty assignments included the USS Brewton, Naval Mobile Mine
  Assembly Group 1410, and Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 22;
  from January to October 2006, he worked with the Ninth Naval
  Construction Regiment and was attached to the First Marine
  Air/Ground Combat Expeditionary Force; the expeditionary force was
  recently awarded a Navy Unit Commendation in recognition of its
  personnel's heroic service in Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Louis Ojeda has enjoyed the
  support of his friends and family, including his children, Jackie
  and Louis Ojeda, Jr.; and
         WHEREAS, Chief Ojeda has exemplified the  highest ideals of
  the United States armed forces throughout his career, and his
  outstanding efforts in this nation's behalf are deserving of his
  fellow citizens' deepest respect and gratitude; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Louis Ojeda
  on the occasion of his retirement and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Chief Ojeda as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
