R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Kurt Harris is retiring from the |
|
|
Weatherford Fire Department in 2009, drawing to a close an |
|
|
outstanding career in public service that has lasted more than |
|
|
three decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Harris has worked for the City of Weatherford |
|
|
for 32 years, and for the past 20, he has been fire marshal; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In that important position, Fire Marshal Harris has |
|
|
distinguished himself in such vital areas of endeavor as fire |
|
|
investigation, education of the public in fire safety, plan review, |
|
|
and enforcement of the fire code; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With the love and support of his wife, Patty, Mr. |
|
|
Harris has dedicated his career to ensuring the safety and welfare |
|
|
of his community, and he may take great pride in his achievements as |
|
|
he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kurt Harris on his retirement from |
|
|
the Weatherford Fire Department and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
