R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Harlingen Area Builders Association |
|
|
are gathering at the State Capitol on February 25,2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 2005, HABA is a nonprofit organization |
|
|
focused on uniting Harlingen area builders and educating citizens |
|
|
as well as professionals in the industry about important |
|
|
construction issues; the association also provides its members |
|
|
opportunities for networking and organizes projects to assist local |
|
|
charitable groups; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Initiatives created and promoted by HABA include a |
|
|
home show, the New Home Tour, and a scholarship program to benefit |
|
|
students completing building and technology studies at Texas State |
|
|
Technical College; the association also gives its support to the |
|
|
Ronald McDonald House, the Family Crisis Center, and the Children's |
|
|
Center at Valley Baptist Medical Center, and it helps build |
|
|
handicap ramps and carries out other socially responsible |
|
|
endeavors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By joining forces to help strengthen their industry, |
|
|
the members of HABA are contributing to economic prosperity in |
|
|
South Texas while also assisting worthwhile community causes, and |
|
|
their actions are indeed deserving of recognition; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby welcome the Harlingen Area Builders Association |
|
|
to the State Capitol and extend to its members sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
